Just finished "Brothers in Arms: Earned in Blood". Good fun, that one. Difficult enough to play through a couple of times. Nice scenery.

"Doom 3: Resurrection" seemed like a bunch of throw-away levels from the original, halfhazardly tossed together to make quick $$$.

"Far Cry: Instincts" is nifty, because they say the "F" word. Seriously though, I'm sick of goddamn dinosaurs popping up in games. F**k dinosaurs.

"Kingdom Under Fire: Heroes" rocks, as did its predecessor. I love this game so much I just put the controller down and said "F**k it!" like that Italian guy in that movie "Big Night" when he realized his s**t had just been owned by the most awesome food ever.

Just started the new "Gauntlet" this evening. I pumped more quarters into that goddamn Gauntlet machine back in the day than Holmes pumped [bodily fluid] into [hot porn star]. Now I can just hit the "start" button when my "Wizard is about to die". The thrill is gone.

"Star Wars: Battlefront II" gives me pleasure. I put the controller on my groin and allow my character to be shot repeatedly and hence, pleasure. Those cheap Chinese controllers with multi-level vibrato ROCK.

I've been trying to work my way through Fable again...

But *beep* man... I'm pretty impatient... I just want my old character back again... many man hours there... but I erased the god damned profile... *beep* I'm an idiot.

I used to teach in Korea (moved to Tokyo about 15 months ago). I post here sometimes because there aren't any good "tech talk" sections on the Japan forums I use.

I got my 360 last Saturday (launch day in Japan). Really digging it so far. PDZ is the only full game I've picked up so far, and it's pretty nice. Co-op play over Live is fan-freaking-tastic. Very Happy

My Gamer Card:

Only 60 points so far. (Off to a slow start, I guess. Smile )

Cool man... I'm planning on picking one up soon. If you got your 360 in Japan... is Perfect Dark Zero all in Japanese... or is it in English? This is the only thing I'm worried about in getting my 360 here in Korea...

I'll make sure I add you to my friends list on Live is your cool with that dude...

PDZ is all in English, which is one of the reasons I got it for my first game. Ridge Racer 6 is in English as well, but I passed on it since I want PGR3 when it comes out here next month. The English/Japanese thing is really case by case.

Need for Speed: Most Wanted is pretty much all in Japanese. The videos and stuff are the same, but they've been dubbed over. The police radios are in Japanese as well. I can deal with game menus in Katakana, but too much Japanese and it's more frustrating than fun. Needless to say, NFS is getting a pass from me.

Hmmm... I might hold off then. The 360 does not come out until Feb in the ROK anyways... and I got my vacation coming up in April and I'll be heading back to Canada. I think I'll pick one up in Canada and bring it back over... and then just have games mailed over to me...

Thanks alot for the info though dude...

PS: Have you had any troubles with your 360 at all? Overheating and such...

No problems with mine, or with any of my friends' systems.

I think the people who are having overheating problems probably don't have enough airspace around the system (or the power supply).

Just wait for the PS3 launch. At this point in time Halo 3 will launch and MS will have to have some kind of bundle or price drop.

You can decide wether the PS3 is better or if MS has managed to get any good games in the meantime. Unless you NEED to play mediocre games like Perfect Dark or DOA4, look at the 360 launch games they are all Xbox 1 or PC ports.

If you don't have a huge HDTV, you might as well stick to PS2 and the XBox as the graphical difference is going to be hard to detect.

Thats a good point about the bundle package in correlation with Halo 3... to be honest... one of the reasons I want to get a 360 is for that title alone...

I totally understand some people doing the "wait and see" thing. Hell, even the day before the launch I was saying I wasn't going to get one right away.

Then I played one. Smile

I checked out Ridge Racer 6 (interesting tidbit - this is the first time a new RR game has debuted on a non-Sony system) at a game shop in Akihabara on launch morning and was very impressed. Then I went to a friend's place and spent some time with PDZ and Call of Duty 2. I'm not into the whole WW2 thing, but CoD2 is damned nice. I'd have picked that up instead of PDZ if the import (they're selling the US version here as the J one's not out yet) prices weren't so high.

The Live Arcade stuff is rather cool too. Yeah, I know you don't need a brand new system to play old games, but playing them with your friends over Live is pretty sweet.

This is also my first time dealing with Xbox Live. I never had it on my old Xbox (it's modded), so this is new to me (online multiplayer on PC notwithstanding). Co-op over Live is fantastic. I'd love to see every FPS (or adventuring style game, like Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance) include this.

I was playing with a friend Saturday night and it was awesome to take out guards with silenced pistols in unison. "On zero...3, 2, 1, zer-BANG!" ^.^

Of course, it's not so great when the person you're co-opping with (some other dude who invited me to join a mission with him the other night) won't talk to you and just runs all over the place, not even trying to do things together. You know, co-operatively?!?

The other thing that got me to spring for it right away is the price. It's only $335 in Japan for the same package as the US premium one. The games are about $55 here, which isn't too bad. (Imports are about $70, though. Sad )

If you're an early-adopter for game systems, I'd say it's worth picking one up now. If you're not, just wait until more games are out and you've got a better selection of titles that suit you.

Look at the launch schedule. There is nothing good for 360 in December, January, or February. Same thing happens with all launches. November launch and nada until the summer. What is the next best game for 360. Halo 3, period. All the other turds/games are ports available on Xbox 1 or PC. So like I said, unless you have a thing for mediocre games, wait till Halo 3.

The only reason to get a 360 at this point in time is to put your 720p HDTV into effect. Everyone else should wait for the PS3. I've seen the 360 on a regular tv. It looks exactly the same as Xbox 1.

Nomally I'm not one to reply to somebody going out of his way to be antagonistic, but what the heck.

Project Gotham Racing 3
Perfect Dark Zero
Ridge Racer 6

Only on 360, not ported from any other system. Sequels? Yes, but definitely not ports.

Kameo: Elements of Power
Condemned: Criminal Origins.

Only on 360 and not sequels.

So does that mean that the 360 in Japan is region free then? If you got yours in Japan, but your playing a US based version of the game... whats up with that?

Hell... maybe I'll hop a ferry to Japan and pick up a 360 then...

Whats your take on it Walter?
