My dad: 56 years old, American, rural school district superintendent, enjoys outdoor activities (but not in winter!) and watching TV. Workaholic, but not the suit-wearing type. I got him Civilization IV when it came out in october so I don't want to get another computer game.

He's a little easier to shop for than Mom. But in the interest of symmetry, please post your Christmas gift ideas for Dads here.

My dad's horrible to shop for this, but this year I got him one of those Seiko Kinetics watches...does your dad dig new technology and bling? If so that's the perfect combo there my friend.

Since you're having trouble shopping for both parents, why not see if you can get them a joint gift. A gift certificate for a restaurant they both like or something along those lines.

I'm not really having trouble with my father's gift... just posted the thread because I thought lots of people were considering the same questions, and wanted to see who had interesting ideas I hadn't thought of.
