I know in Seoul, you couldn 't take the form to the main counter, they had a special office set up for it upstairs, and people trained to handle it. maybe you guys just went to the wrong people? |

I'm in Cheongju. There isn't much of an office, never more than 3 staff members that I have seen (only been there 3x) |

This must be unnerving for you, being that you are getting down to the deadline. |

My coworker went to the Cheongju office this week and after waiting for 30 minutes in the wrong area (the area you normally use downstairs), they sent him up to the third floor to do it. |

I am not worried about it My employer led us to the office, and he is the one who should be concerned if the forms don't actually get where they should go, lol, or he isn't going to have any foreign teachers. In our staff meeting Thursday the boss actually mentioned the closing of some of his competitors and said he hoped that we are all doing our best. Seems like he is not sleeping well at night. |

When exactly is the deadline? My boss has me doing it during vacation because my visa expires right around then anyway. (I'm renewing.) Plus, he knows me....I do NOT want to do it during my free two hours between class. |

I wonder how trained they were? They didn't look trained to me.. finding my ARC number on a computer.. that takes a lot of training. They just glanced at my degree. |

I'm sure Snowmeow has the whole Confirmation of Degree exercise pegged. I didn't have to appear at Immigration in person or show my original 'sheepskin'... simply filled out the form and photocopied my diploma for the boss to take to Immigration.
It's virtually impossible for K authorities to check whether or not my degree is legitimate because the Canadian Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act prevents my university from disclosing any information about me without my written consent. |

I am not sure about that act. I actually called my university to double check whether they would tell Immigration in Korea if I had graduated and the person who answered the phone at the Registrar said that yes, they would confirm. This was in November. Maybe the staff needs to be educated about privacy laws. |

When I went in Seoul they glanced at my degree to make sure the university on it matched the one I wrote on the form. But, now I'm officially qualified!!! |

Down here in Changwon we haven't even been told about the whole thing yet and so I'm doubting the deadline is Dec. 30th for all foreign teachers in the country. Maybe for Seoul and Busan, but certainly not for everyone. |

I had to go to the Jeonju (Jeollabuk-do) Immigration Office, and the deadline was December 15th. |

Haven't heard about it in Daejeon (has anyone?) although I don't think it affects me since I'm no longer on an E-2. |
