This is for newbies. There is a dark brown drink you can get in the grocery stores, called . It is made from persimmons () and is heavily spiced with cinnamon. It's terrific. Koreans drink it cold, but I find it is even tastier when it's heated up. It similar to hot spiced cider.

Give it a try.

if you tell me how to say "bugger off" in the local patois, I'll tell you where I saw some free-roaming sheep last week.

You could at least try to be helpful, Mashimaro!

A Google search shows that it looks like this:

it's a short yellow can with a picture of a brown drink on it.

had it "homemade" style in a restaurant in the summer (the drink being chilled). It was good.

I don't do pictures on the internet, but I can tell you this:

Look for a short yellow and orange striped can. Across the top, written in white in Korean is 'bi-lak-soo-jung-gwa'. In smaller letters under that is 'Nostalgia Drink, Soojeonggwa Since 1994'. There's a picture of a white cup with a brown liquid and three white seeds floating in it.

Be careful, it will likely be next to another yellow can with shi-gay in it. I think that stuff is foul.

I've had the home-made stuff in restaurants, too. Superior to the canned stuff.

As I said, it's good cold. But really good heated up in the microwave.

Enjoy, xtchr. I forgot to mention I paid W500 per can. Keep your nose out for a cinnamon smell when you pass restaurants. Honest. You can often smell the places that serve that stuff.

COOL Mr. Hollywood!

When I've asked my friends they said it was complicated to make. This recipe doesn't look all that difficult. I'll try it over vacation if I'm feeling ambitious.

I still think it tastes better hot on a cold winter night.
