Dubu (Tofu ) is me favorite Korean food because it is tasteless. Korean food is without doubt the worst in Asia....next to Filipino food, which tastes like engine oil. An erstwhile food critic of the Korea Herald got fired after describing one Korean dish as smelling like "vomit and rotting corpses." The newspaper's editor was inundated with complaints from irate Korean readers:)

yikes, well to each his own, but cmon

the food isn't that bad (i find it quite tasty and prefer it to western dishes now), but i've never known someone who absolutely detests it

but now i'm curious as to what kind of cuisine you like

Kimchee fried rice. I know this is boring, but I could eat it four times a day! Best at restaurants that specialize in fried rice and sometimes department store food courts.

ġ벆 ? (kimchie bok um pap)?

I probably spelt it wrong.

Kimchie Bokumpap with dwen jong kook mool never gets boring. Neither does raw fish. But damn it - why is the latter so expensive? I've blown about 70 bucks this week on raw fish because it's such an addiction.

Anyone else agree Sam gyop sal is way nicer than the ribs kalbi?

Yukgyejang was always good in cold weather. Another one is Ϲ. That' a nice sweet bulgogi flavored soup with those thin mushrooms and meat. It smells really good.

I'm also a big fan of these days. Good for cold weather with a bit of soju. It's like a kind of  but more stewy, usually done in a big communal pot in the middle of the table. You can get it with loads of different things in, but I quite like or . There's restaurants that specialize in it (surprise!) and it's usually reasonably priced (maybe 12000-15000 for a big one).

You really need a good source of tofu, then. Korean tofu is far from tasteless! Don't but the prepackaged stuff...get it fresh!

I don't know why, but one of my favourites is still . mixed with lots of shredded cabbage, carrots, and cucumber all covered with lots of . Some places serve it with ...about the only time I eat, and enjoy, that stuff. Nice and easy to make at home with whatever kind of and you like.

I like most everything in Korea, with a few exceptions (like ۰--sea squirt). Recently, my doc told me I need to modify my diet (actually, docs have been saying it for years), so my new favorite dish is ġȸ (a kind of with raw tuna chunks).

Simple... ޱ

That is, if you don't have a problem with fish. Tastes great and isn't available in the summertime (for reasons I haven't been able to fully comprehend yet).

ȸ (ġ or not) has always been one of my favorite dishes. I am also a big fan of .
