I need hard facts. No speculation please.

How much is the total cost of the insurance monthly? Is it a % or a pure amount?

You pay 3.94 per cent of your monthly salary. Your boss matches that amount.

I'm single converage, no children and wife, and I pay 4.21% total...My employer refunds me 2.105% (50% of the coverage). I am enrolled in the National plan. Beware, employers will tell the health insurance office a lower than actual salary figure so that your premiums are less. If that's the case, make sure there is no skimming off the top, such as you paying 2.105% of a 2.0 mil salary, and the actual premium being 2.105% of a 1.3 mil salary due to a lie by your employer.

It can't be a straight percentage... something's wacky with what people are telling you. I'm paid by the local school district; and when I got a raise, my National Health Insurance premium did not go up.

Maybe others have a different plan?

cruisemonkey, before calling my legit answer whack, check out your own information. I am signed up with NHIC, which is the national health plan. Check their website out too. Of course its a percentage. If you have been given a raise, then your premium hasn't gone up most likely due to your school not notifying the NHIC people of the salary adjustment.

For the employee insured, the contribution amount shall be calculated by monthly salary contribution rate����, currently 4.31% and be deducted from the monthly salary (50% of which is shared by the employer). Irrespective of the actual date of enrollment, the obligation of contribution payment is retroactive up to the date the enrollee was employed.

I said 4.21% in my earlier post, it's close enough!
