| I don't know where he got off expecting it to have a magnesium metal casing like a much more expensive MAC laptop?? Maybe just because it looks a lot like one? I can't think of many laptops other than macs that have magnesium metal casings (or whatever metal he said it was). |
Nowadays, Toshiba, Fujitsu, Rugged Laptop, Panasonic and even Averatec came on the market with magnesium casings. But all after the Mac, of course. |
Well, magnesium alloys are very strong and light. But pure magnesium, damn, that'd be a serious Mission Impossible "This laptop will self-destruct in 5 seconds" kinda machine.
And although they're more expensive than the previous materials used, the cost is well worth it if durability is an issue.

Well.....I didn't get anything. I looked for the laptop that BBE suggested, but all I could find were LG and Sony laptops exclusively. Plus, the screen on BBE's suggestion is a bit small.
So - anyone have a suggestion for a good LG or Sony? Should I get a Dell instead? |
