No Spezza, no big loss.
Shanahan deserves to be there before Kariya does. Also Doan was one of the best players at the World Cup, he hit everything in sight. I'd like to see him there again.
I am a huge Leafs fan, but if McCabe makes the team I will be disappointed. Doesn't deserve it. |

I absolutely agree with you on the Shanahan comment (and not just because I'm a Wings fan).. I'm thinking he'll make it.. they'll figure that they'll need another solid veteran now that Stevie and Mario are out..
I don't think McCabe deserves to be there either.. there are loads of more deserving D-men.. |

No big surprises...
Still a great team without Spezza and Staal.
Duceppe would be disappointed to learn there are only 5 Quebecers that couls make it. At least on of whom said he would never play for a Quebec team anyway (Lecavalier) |

I guess they needed a good checking line (Draper,Smyth,Doan).
It is still unfortunate that Spezza couldn't make the aqud. Canada was just too deep a centre. They even had Stall for a choice.
The question now is who will get the start in nets? |

Brodeur. Hands down. Until (if) he screws up majorly. But I don't see that happening. He knows how to get into form for the big games.
Now the question is, if we need to use one of the "taxi" guys, who do you go with: Spezza or Staal?
I pick Staal. Why you ask? Look where he's playing. Not a ton of help. Spezza is doing well, and not to take anything away from him, but he is playing with two other Olympic calibre athletes.
Really though, you couldn't go wrong with either one. |

Story running on Yahoo.ca re: Bertuzzi's inclusion.
What a joke! These whining idiots seem to have little idea how brutal the game really can be. Thumping on people & payback goes with the territory. Too bad people sometimes get their necks broken.
Uproar at Bertuzzi pick for Canada Olympic hockey
By Scott Anderson Thu Dec 22, 2:34 PM ET
TORONTO (Reuters) - The inclusion in Canada's Olympic hockey team of a player convicted of a vicious on-ice assault against an opposing player stirred a storm of controversy among Canadian fans on Thursday.
The selection of the talented Todd Bertuzzi, a star forward with the Vancouver Canucks, for the team that will compete in the Turin Winter Games in February must still be approved Canada's Olympic Committee. |

Why do you say that? Have they got Robin Williams & Eddie Murphy lacing up this time around? |

| Heatley has to be approved too doesn't he? Since he has a Criminal Record. They set precedence with some equestrian (sp?) rider who did cocaine.. I think Bertuzzi should be there.. they need grit.. |

| A Quebec politician says that Shane Doan shouldn't be on the team because he allegedly made an anti-French statement towards a referee a couple of weeks ago. |
