Does it exist in Korea and how do I get it? What if I am driving my director's car?
Thanks |

Of course it exists. You get it at a car insurance company. If you are driving his car, he needs the insurance that covers you. |

You need insurance before you can drive the car from the lot.
So your boss prolly has it. Not sure what kind he has. My car insurance can cover anyone who has a license and drives my car. |

What happens if you get in an accident? Who pays who?
Recently, I slid off the road into a siderail. The car is in the shop and being repaired. It is like Canada and the insurance rate increases or do you pay for all the damages yourself?
Thanks |

the policy works the same way as back home.
if you get into an accident and it is your fault, you have two options:
1) let the insurance company cover it by paying just the minimum deductable and your insurance premium will go up in the future.
2) pay for it yourself
the rule of thumb is to let the insurance company cover it if the costs of repair goes over W500,000. if the amount is under that, pay for it yourself. |

Usually in an accident where nobody is seriously hurt, Koreans doen't resort to calling in their insurance companies, and instead pay each other "blood money." |

Unfortunately, it's over 500 000. Today, the director told me I am going to pay the bill. He doesn't speak english, so I am going to talk to his friend. Then his friend can explain that I don't want to pay 500 000 bills.
Nobody was hurt, all that happened was I hit the siderail because of the unplowed snow on the road. Frick! |

You have to fix the car if you damaged it. What do you mean you don't want to repair the car? Get a receipt from the boss for the damages and be an adult and pay for your mistakes. |

I would rather go with option 1,

Do you own the car?
Have you been paying insurance on it all year?
Putting gas in it?
Maintaining it?
Are you going to compensate your boss later when his insurance premiums go up?
Are you going to talk to the credit bureau when his credit rating goes down because you smashed up his car?
Are you going to put a roof over his kids' heads when he can't get a mortgage?
What if he has an accident in the future, and can't get insurance because he's made too many claims?
Are you going to drive him to work?
Why should someone else's insurance cover your actions? |

I can't believe you are planning on refusing to pay for the damage you caused. What kind of person are you? Grow up and act your age. |

I don't know what world you come from, but from planet earth, this is a normal route.
Business is just that, business. Car accidents do happen and so then you should look at the best options.

No

I just started driving the car and so their friends reassured me that their car insurance would cover me until I was able to purchase insurance. It's a long story to why I wasn't able to get it right away.

Depending on if this the more economical way to go. By

He has another car. The plan was that I would use his car to drive back and forth from work. It was a previous arrangement. |
