Cubism began in Paris in the early 20th century as a way of radically redefining the interpretation of space in painting and marked a turning point in the history of modern Western art. The question of ``modern art���� was crucial to an Asia developing a sense of its own modernity in turbulent times, dealing with colonialism, war, independence and nationalism.
Thanks to the research endeavors of the Japan Foundation, the history of modern art throughout Asia has been given an expansive glance in an exhibition focusing specifically on the spread of Cubism.
Jointly presented by Singapore Art Museum, The National Museum of Contemporary Art in Tokyo, The Japan Foundation and The National Museum of Modern Art in Korea, the exhibition is now showing at the National Museum of Art, in Toksu Palace in Seoul. |

I did something culture for New Years.
I'm in Korea so I drank loads of soju and I'm Australian so I also drank heaps of Bundy later in the night  .
Can't get much more cultural than that........it's New Years for f**k sake!  |
