I think the topic nicely sums everything up... whats the advice, besides the "jump off a 5th floor balcony and see if you can fly first" sort of responses.

Unless you are prepared to go all the way (ie. marriage), don't crap where you eat.

I like the don't shit where you eat philosophy and have never strayed from it before... but well, I kind of like pulling off the impossible.

P.S. Marriage isnt for me.

what is it about 5th floors and suicide...I could name soooo many. There seems to be some energy and symbolism with the fifth floor. Bohumil Hrabal a famous Czech writer who jumped from the fifth proves as much.........is this one way of taking it to the grave, pleading the fifth?

OH!!!!! By the way, don't *beep* with a good thing. But if it's bad,.....plug away........

I did it and it was uncomfortable, for her. Whatever gossip you might imagine, double or triple it. So if you do, keep it very secret for her sake.

There are a couple of nice, flirtatious birds at my school.

My advice would be to treat individuals as precisely that and ignore 'cultural' bo11ocks.

I did it and there wasn't a single problem. Three times in fact now that I give it some thought. I've never seen what the problem is.

1. Work gossip, relationship is under spotlight of this.
2. If it ends badly, people tend to side with the percieved injured party and make your life badly.
3. Who wants to put themselves in a position where they have to be in close proxminty of an ex.

Maturity. Though you didn't state how public or private they were.

CLG, I think you are a worrier. The days of lifetime employment at one company are long gone. I've dated coworkers and never had a problem. Of course, be mature about it. Don't compromise the girl or her reputation.

I've heard time and time again from friends 'Don't do it man too much hassle' so I listened, their advice on topics other than this has been useful so I respect what they have to say. Months ago this really smokin chick with primo English was working with us. I longed for her day and night but wouldn't pull the trigger because I didn't want to crap in my backyard so to speak. Anyway about the beginning of September she informs us that shes leaving for other opportunities in a week. Score!! I pounced on the opportunity like a squirrel on a nut. "Sure I'd love to go out on a date with you kind sir" was her reply. Score!! #2. So anyway we went out on one date, then another and another until after about a month and a half she's pretty much my girlfriend.

But alas an uninvited twist comes into the mix. Unbeknownst to me, she decides to come back to work for us!! Booooo!! I come into work one day and she's there. I thought she was just hangin out chattin but no no no she's workin!! But for this cat it had become too late for backing out on unsubstantial grounds so the next two months became a sketchy web of lies and deceit and hiding feelings around the office. It became almost fun......but not really, there has been a bit of obvious flirtatious behaviour that has I'm sure made her fellow Korean ladies a wee bit suspicious. It brings us to now, where just yesterday she informs me she will be the assuming the head teacher role at my school. Blast it all!! Now if the other Korean teachers become the least bit resentful towards her or me and their suspicion is strong enough the whole damn house of cards could come crashing down on my face. My boss would surely not approve!! It may work out for me yet but my advice is don't do it!! You might save yourself a few grey hairs in the process.
