I am uncertian if Gia consulting has been discussed on the forum (can't seem to get the search to work at the moment), but they have found me a job with The Korea Times English education center. It sounds ok but I would really like to know if anyone has any experience with either of these organizations.

Much appreciated.

I wouldn't suggest working for Times Media near Ankuk station. I just finished doing a job with them and they micromanage everything. You will find very little room to breath there.

The gig with Korea Times is not an option any longer. I am still wondering about Gina at Gia though.

You mentioned that you got your own job. Do you just do that on these websites? What kind of job did you land?

You dont meed a recruiter. Recruiters are simply go-betweens who place you with a school, collect a fee from the owners, & have no further interest in you. They are wel known to misrepresent jobs, just to get your ink on a contract.

If you do go through a recruiter its still up to you to determine that the workplace is honest & decent. Never take a recruiters word for it.

A fair few employers advertise directly here & elsewhere.

Is it Gina Kim? If so, my wife and I used her, and she was very friendly and put us in a good school. But like the other guy said, I don't think the recruiters know everything about the school they put you in. How could they?

The best thing I have found was to use many recruiters. I tell them what I want, Where I want it, hours I want, and salary (negotiable some). I let them look for me and if they find what I want exactly...then I go to talk to the school. If they want me to send my passport picture I scan it but black out the numbers some so they can't start the process. If they screw me around...then I don't use that recruiter.

Gia was okay for me. I am not saying that she was great but she didn't send me lies and she didn't contact me about jobs that were not in my demands( yes..demands. There are thousands of schools that I can choose to work for. I don't beg for a job because I don't have to.)

You owe the recruiters nothing. Make them find what you want. Do not take a job that you don't think you can finish because you should finish the contract. Before you sign the contract make sure you are happy. The school won't change what they need after you sign.
