|
|
So tonight I gave my phone to a girl to put her number into it, and she gave it back to me asking what was wrong. I looked at it, and my phone was dead! I thought, okay, well... maybe the battery died, although it was nearly full at the time. So I took it home to charge, and an hour later it still doesn't work.
Perhaps the spirit of my girlfriend interceded and ruined the circuitry in my phone? Maybe the car was too cold?
Anyone else heard of this? It's pissing me off atm because it's the only way I have to get in contact with gf or anyone else, and vice versa. Do I just need a new battery or what?
SHD. Arg.

it happened with some old phones I had in the US. the battery probably didn't die, but it probably jiggled loose of the contact points, so it's as if you removed it. Open the battery cover and see if the battery is loose, or if it has moved from its original position. With one of my old phones the technician just put a piece of scrap cardboard into the battery case to make it tight so the battery wouldn't move. You may be able to do something similar if this is the problem. |

I thought this thread was going to be about something else; something like a former student told me: "I often look sad because I was walking with a friend along the street one moment; the next, I saw him get killed by a bus. I was walking along beside him along the street while he was talking on his cell phone and he didn't notice the low-hanging branch of the tree on the sidewalk until he ran into it...hard. He stumbled onto the road and was smoked by a bus." Jesus, I think it was a true story. Be careful of those stupid cell phones! Anyway, try cleaning the contact points between battery and base with some rubbing alcohol...might help make sure there's a good connection. If not, bring it to a service centre and see what they can do for you...shouldn't be too expensive. Also, if available on you phone, try to recharge using the direct connection to the USB...I've been deceived into thinking that the battery was charged in the recharger base, but it definitely wasn't...sucky LG phones! |

I thought that, too, an know I'm straying. But I've personally witnessed 2
pedestrians in Korea get whacked by cars. My roommate got hit, but by
a car semi-slowly exiting a parking lot. No injury. We all know they'll clip
your elbows with side mirrors on narrow streets. Be careful, people!
As for the phone, I've never had to pay for service, even though the damage
was my fault. They're pretty good, and unless it's super-crowded, will fix it
while you wait. The service guy even took me out for sam gyeop sal & soju. |

Look at sites like gmarket and auction.co.kr. You can get new camera phones for less than 30000won. It's a trick to get people to change to a different provider. It's technically illegal for sellers to do this, but nobody seems to be stopping them. You must already have a cell phone registered in your name for it to work. |

Thanks for the advice, y'all. I've tried reseating the battery a few times and it didn't improve anything, so I'm gonna have to take it to a service center today. My gf looked at it and said she's seen that before and it's usually not a big problem.
Crossing my fingers...

Had a look and you can get new cell phones for 1000won, as long as you already have one and are willing to switch service provider. You get to keep the same number. Have a look at shopping.naver.com. |
