| That should tell you something right there 5 eagles. You are not a christian...you are a 'fanatic'...you arent rational and have overstepped your bounds. |
You know what Grotto, that's pretty much the biggest compliment you have given me. If you think God will have anything to do with much of the North American church, then you are sadly mistaken. He is coming back for a radical bride who doesn't listen to worldly advice. Look at my site and see all my friends who share the same faith I do. This isn't about Sunday living, this about worshipping the King of Heaven.
Sure the church is messed up and satan uses it to lead his attack against people, but that is changing. The church is increasing in love and kindness and will be redeemed from the evil it has committed in the past. Rick Joyner says the church is about 15 percent of what it should be at.
See Grotto, you don't understand the wisdom of God because it is parabolic. Not circular, but always increasing in revelation. The wisdom of this world is sensual, demonic and earthly, but the spirit of wisdom is full of peace, joy, kindness and love.
Things you can't understand. You can only understand it through God's grace and that would take humility. In all your posts to me, I have only seen one sign of humility. So, I have quite given up on ya yet.

They're right.
Look, I'm not anti-religion and I think most people would benefit from believing in and acting on the tenets of any of the major religions.
What I don't like is people who think words speak louder than actions and preach. Of all the christians I know and have known, the ones who made the biggest impact on the people around them were the ones who lived in a way that made it obvious that they had a good life philosophy. But they didn't try to force it on anybody.
People like you piss off and turn off 99 people for every 1 that you make an impact on. |

'see all my friends'
Whatever ya say Jim Jones. The world is full of nutjobs who claim to 'know the way' to 'be the next messiah' to 'lead people to heaven' to 'know the one true path to god'.
You are a cultist....far beyond the rational. It wouldnt surprise me to hear one day that you had killed yourself to hitch a ride on a comet.
Your words are like the braying of a jackass, of meaning only to yourself and other jackasses. |

Beaver, after calling me a knob, you are trying to reason with me now?
Grotto,
"Blessed are those who are cursed for righteousness sake, for great is their name in heaven."
"And I say to you, you have heard to love your friends and hate your enemies, but don't the sinners do that? No, I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who revile you and pray for those who persecute you."
Jesus
20Lady Wisdom goes out in the street and shouts.
At the town center she makes her speech.
21In the middle of the traffic she takes her stand.
At the busiest corner she calls out:
22"Simpletons! How long will you wallow in ignorance?
Cynics! How long will you feed your cynicism?
Idiots! How long will you refuse to learn?
23About face! I can revise your life.
Look, I'm ready to pour out my spirit on you;
I'm ready to tell you all I know.
24As it is, I've called, but you've turned a deaf ear;
I've reached out to you, but you've ignored me.
25"Since you laugh at my counsel
and make a joke of my advice,
26How can I take you seriously?
I'll turn the tables and joke about your troubles!
27What if the roof falls in,
and your whole life goes to pieces?
What if catastrophe strikes and there's nothing
to show for your life but rubble and ashes?
28You'll need me then. You'll call for me, but don't expect an answer.
No matter how hard you look, you won't find me.
29"Because you hated Knowledge
and had nothing to do with the Fear-of-GOD,
30Because you wouldn't take my advice
and brushed aside all my offers to train you,
31Well, you've made your bed--now lie in it;
you wanted your own way--now, how do you like it?
32Don't you see what happens, you simpletons, you idiots?
Carelessness kills; complacency is murder.
Hey Beaver, doesn't look like lady wisdom is too quiet, eh?
I'm out like trout... |

shortly thereafter the men in white coats come to the corner and take the crazy lady away and lock her up.
Later she escapes and kills 10 people saying that god told her to do it.
Yes it is a good thing she listened to the voice of god eh?
Doesnt sound too wise to me.
See 5birdy I can make up stories too! |

Jesus said "Don't cast your pearls before swine." I'm not implying that anyone in this discussion is a pig, but think carefully about this message. If you throw them down in front of swine, do you think they are going to be impressed? They won't see any value in it, and what's more, the pearls aren't terribly digestible. They'll likely choke the poor animal.
Here's the message in context, which makes it even more interesting:
http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?book_id=47&chapter=7&version=31
Fiveeagles, the love and patience you've shown is really lovely. I appreciate it, but I do think people feel alienated by the way you sometimes express yourself, like the way you use "Christianese." I support the message that Jesus brought. I wish I could be a better "fisher of men," and I think you've been brave and sweet. I just wonder whether these conversations do more harm than good. |
Rick Joyner says the church is about 15 percent of what it should be at.
The church is two thousand years old and its only 15% of what it should be?
That says everything right there.
When you make spirituality an organized/hierarchical institution, its going to become corrupt. Simple and plain.
Every individual on this planet has their own unique interpretation about what god is. There is no single answer and this is the root cause for my dismissal of most religions. |

I started with reason, went to name calling, went back to reason, and I'm going back into a name calling swing.

Actually, I do have a bit of a fathead....how did you know?
Ok, Kermo, that is great advice. That was going to be my last post in this thread, until you spoiled it with kindness. I am always a sucker when people are acting out of love.
Have you heard of Pastor Graham Cooke?
This is a second hand story, so there might be errors in the interpretation...if you ever hear it from him straight.
Well he is a preacher from England and has a beautiful ministry. Well, he had a church and there were these two guys that would come every Sunday. They would come with placecards and mock him while he preached. It was abusive and vile.
Graham brought it before the Lord and asked him what the problem was.
God revealed a beautiful picture of a sculpture. It was gorgeously shaped and was built out of precious metals and jewels. God asked Graham, "how do you think I am building this sculpture?" Graham was like "those two guys?" God said yep!
Kermit, do you remember the story of Paul evangelising in Philipi? Well, remember the one demon possessed lady who followed them into the city declaring they were the servants of the high Lord. Remember Paul's reaction?
For the most part, there are many redemptive qualities in these conversations.
I would definitely listen to your ideas if you want to pm me, just do it after the next program of Bob Jones ok?

Oh dear, our ignorance and bigotry is alienating even people who profess to be of the same faith! Never fear! Im sure we can find something in the good book to justify our aggressive conversion activity. Ah yes! It says here that the righteous will be persecuted! Great, that covers us quite nicely! All very circular and convenient, but it does show we`re right though!
Hey, we`re inventing a new religion. We are taking the roots of another very old religion, but we want to change it a bit so we can call it something new and take control over it. We are also saying that we are the ONLY way to go, so we are effectively saying that ALL other religions around the world are wrong and that everyone must convert to our way, cause we`re just so right, you see. We figure this might cause some resistance. So I think it would be a good idea if we put in our book that we will be persecuted. That kinda covers us for when people resist our aggressive attempt to take over and wipe out the other world religions! Groovy baby! |

Five Eagles, I think you either have some mild brain damage, perhaps autism. Either that, or you were profoundly maladjusted in your childhool and youth, and have been persecuted, teased, and bullied during a significant part of your upbringing.
Either way, you are quite obviously not mentally or emotionally healthy.
You know what all of your `desperate to be different, desperate to be special` claptrap on this board screams to me?
