Is there a lodge in Korea? For travelin men, for good men who want to be made better?

Can somebody tell me what goes in those meetings? Do y'all still wear fezs (fezzes?)? I've never seen a lodge, here, either...

A few years ago my brother gave me a copy of "Behold a Pale Horse" or something. It was conspiracy theory book that freemasons held control of the gov't. Mentioned the theroy to my friend who is studying French history (PhD program at Cambridge), and she it was true in the 1700's (?)

I was a high level freemason until I found out about their plans for world domination. I couldn't agree and left.

I think I told this story a while back, but I like it, so here I go again.
I had a boyfriend in high school who went out to university in another province, and joined a lodge. We were having a chat, and he was having a go at me for being a Christian.

HIM: "Why would you be a part of a religious organization who tells you what to believe?"

ME: "Er, why would you be a part of a religious organization who refuses to tell you what you're supposed to believe until you 'level up'?"

HIM: "Free Masonry is not a religion! And Jabul is not Satan!"

ME: "Why would I think Jabul is Satan?"

HIM: "Um, doesn't 'Jabul' sound like the Arabic word for 'Satan'?"

ME: "What's the Arabic word for 'Satan'?"

HIM: "I don't know."

ME: "So, who's Jabul?"

HIM: "I can't tell you that."

According to my list of lodges, there is a Scottish Rite lodge in Seoul called "Han Yang 1048" although my book does not include their address. I imagine if you went to OSAN AFB or met up with someone in the military, they could be more specific for you. There are not many of us EFL'ers who are members of the lodge.

I've been to Yale (visiting my brainy sister), and seen the Skull and Bones lodge. It seems so goofy to me to have these secret societies. The notion that people do this in real life is even more ridiculous than the hammy movie they made about it starring "Pacey" of Dawson's Creek.

It always surprised me as to how many people I knew that had family members as Masons. Have seen members in other countries recognizeable through their reversible signet rings or rings with sapphires of the lightest blue in the purest of gold. They seemed to be everywhere, and which included my music teacher's husband. It didn't seem like a big deal.

I belonged to a fraternity from 1983 on advice from my father more out of curiosity than fervour. Anyway, I remember a capping week pub crawl during my time at uni with friends(drink yourself sober) and I'd dropped my card wallet. One of the drinking buddies saw one of my card/s(the frat one; recognized it) and was blown away. he was saying things like requesting help with membership(nomination) because members are above the law and help was at hand everywhere(so he said). This was all news to me and still is.

Periwinkle, I never completed one of my final initiations but I can tell you that the preparations one is required to make and conclude for each initiation(incense, candles, alter, etc.,etc., ) can result in very supernatural, manifestations(based on scientific principles). I used to think Christians would call it something else.

Even in Korea, the secret handshakes seem to abound(a secret to me too as I never rose that far).
