I realize this a teaching forum, but does anybody here have any experience or know somebody who has attended Yonsei University's graduate school of international studies? I am specifically interested in the Korean Studies and international cooperation programs.
How is the quality of teaching?
How are the programs regarded by both Korean AND employers in other countries (specifically in the US)?
Probably most importantly, the 16,000 dollar a year combined tuition/books/living expenses total fee seems a little steep...how much is it really worth it?
Thanks |

I've thought about the same programs myself. What kind of work would you like this kind of degree to lead to?
I'm especially interested in the idea of doing international relations though I really have no clue what doors it would open up. |

I know of a few people who've done it.
It's supposedly losing some serious resources to their Global MBA. If you want international recognition get the MBA.
The GSIS used to grant an MBA certification, but they removed it to encourage folks into the Global MBA program.
If you're serious about it, talk to the school and ask for an alumni list of people in Seoul. Talk to recent and not so recent grads... Ah, as far as a public person I can "out" here, I think Sean Watts of "Watts on Tap" in Shinchon did one. Go have a beer and talk to him some time. He's a friendly guy. |
