A few years ago I would have been happy. Now? A bit gloomy. Sharon might have not been the most noble man out there but his later actions were pretty good, and he's moderate compared to Nettanyahu and his supporters. Hopefully his new moderate political party won't die with him.

well i see your point.

any withdrawel from occupied land is to be welcomed... however, the recent gaza development was just part of the israeli consolidation plan, and nothing more.

Five years and Sharon never engaged with the Palestanians -- yet his unilateral moves are protrayed as peacemaking.

Netanyahu is a total oportunist, and if he regains his damaged credibility and managed to form a coalition, we will probably hear the same cliched narative about former hardliner making 'sacrifices for peace' when he too is forced to throw a nascent palestian state some crumbs.

He lived in a dangerous time. War criminal? A little harsh IMO.

Take a look at his adversaries...hardline terrorist who shook you hand and smiled while planning to kill you.

Was he a saint? Nope. Was he a criminal? Nope.

He had to deal with vicious animals with no morals and he dealt with them in kind.

In our society you would put a rabid animal out of its misery....so should they do to Hamass.
