If you are going to send a huge suitcase, it'll be cheaper to send it by sea, but it will take about 2-3 months (I think). I sent some boxes by ship back to the Uk last time around and they arrived in perfect condition, nothing lost or anything. Almost gave the poor postie a hernia though luggin them up the path |

As far as I know tax is only charged on incoming items that are brand new, and it would be the receiver that would be paying the tax. My mum has send heaps of new stuff to me and shes never had to pay tax. The only time I had to pay tax was when my new laptop was sent over in the original box which had been unopened. I doubt that a suitcase of stuff will be taxed in that way. |

Just go down to the nearest big post office and ask them, they'll sort you out no problem. I sent a suitcase and two big boxes to Italy from Japan two years ago, it took around three months to get there and was a little expensive but I'm sure it'll be a little cheaper here. It goes by weight, the heavier/bigger the load, the more expensive it'll be. Sending by ship is the cheapest way. |

We mailed about 6 medium size boxesby ship for around 200,000 a year ago. There were even dishes inside and they made it no problem. I am not sure what the limit is, but it will differ depending on your home country. If its something you are that worried about, then I would say carry it with you on the plane. |

Quick Question.. So, when you send suitcases, you just send the suitcase? No need to box it up? Hmm.. That's nifty, if that's what you do. |

One thing you'll notice is how cheap it is to sent stuff from here.
I send stuff home for Christmas and my mom sends me stuff.
It usually costs me about 10-20 thousand won, whereas mom usually spends triple that. |

I just sent my suitcase from Japan without boxing it up. I was also told not to lock it in case immigration needed to check inside. I didn't want to do it but I was told that they might bust it open otherwise Anyway, like I said before it got home in one piece and un-opened. There was nothing expensive in there just clothes and stuff. |

I had the post office reject a box too. THye actually took it at first, then called the next day to say they couldn't accept it. That was a first.
Why don't you just put things in several small boxes? I shipped about 8 home on the boat for 200,000 |
