Agreed. But is that a boss screwing a teacher over or, all too often, a school owner doing business like it is done in Korea where overtime is not always paid time in a company?

I was a teacher back home (Canada) and grading was not paid...meaning we graded papers on our own time. These little "extras" are part of teaching in most places sadly. Most teachers I worked with did prep at home as well, unpaid.

My parents were both teachers back home, and yes they did some unpaid prep at home.........sometimes but not that often.

They also got 2 months off in summer (paid), weeks at Christmas, a week at Easter and spring break .... more or less.

They also got paid regularly and didn't have to worry if the school would fold next month.
