SOMEHOW me and the ol' lady have managed to sneek away with only 1.
BUT, we have been snapped at least three or four times.
twice at night (with the flash and all)....and yet strangely, we've only got one sent to us.
never bothered to wonder too deeply

Perhaps, if you are in a group of cars, they can't tell who is the speeding one? Just a guess.

I've got a GPS, but I don't bother using it anymore. It's annoying as hell, plus it warns of the cameras that are obviously fake. Besides, it's pretty unnecessary now that most cameras are advertized in advance.

I like using it to find gas stations and parking garages in locations close to mine when I visit other cities or areas of Seoul I don't know much about. Finds banks, etc., also.

Nope. No speeding tickets. But watch out for those 'No Parking' signs that are enforced only on alternate Tuesdays in months that end in 'y' if it is raining. Those can be a killer to anyone's budget.

Yeah, the one time I park on the side of the road, like everyone else, was an emergency because my son was very sick, so I had to bring him to the doctor. The parking was full, so I parked on the side of the road as the other cars always do...and I got a ticket. Who says Koreans don't understand irony?

how much do the radar deallios cost? i'm affraid of getting zapped. i seem to know where most of mine are, but still i can't help catch myself sometimes going 110 in a 60... i know i've gone past the banpo bridge one's too fast, but never a flash... hmm. what's a good reliable camera detector and where can i buy one? my kia pride is just too fast.....

90,000 W. At emart. It is annoying, but worth it. I will post what brand it is if I think of it. The speeds change so much that I would have many tickets by now.

Cheers

It's not so much the speeding and cameras that I worry about. You are given "ample" notice about the bulk of them on the road signs

"police enforcement 300m"....HELLO! Thanks for the warning!

I have been driving to work here for three years now. I recognize the new cameras and also those that have been taken down along my path to work....

Right now though, I have a nasty habit of going through many "ill- placed" and "unnecessary" red lights in a row(you know the ones that are 200m apart...). I am always looking ahead to the next set of lights for pedestrians and bicyclists and police..

I also try hurry to bypass all the buses ,taxis, those f'in blue porter/bongo trucks and those idiotic forklift drivers that hold me up in the mornings and nights....I reckon that I will get a ticket when a cop, who has the guts to pull over a whitie, sees me speeding past any of those f'ers or through the above mentioned traffic lights.

So if you see a fireball going through some stupid, ill-placed traffic lights in your neighbourhood, then you'll know its me! watch your step!!!! Evil or Very Mad

I bought a radar that beeps when I am over the speed limit in radar controlled zones. It's works like a charm.

You, a born-again, fundamentalist Christian, use a device that helps you to break the law?

This is too good to be true!

I had a feeling that you don't practice what you preach.

Unfortunately, many outwardly-religious people turn out to be hypocritical in their behavior.

If you start bible-thumping again, I'm going to thump you with this!

Chuck Norris doesn't get speeding tickets, he gives them. Then he roundhouse kicks the perp in the face, daring them to do it again.

I learned of a quirk in the system. It seems that if the car you are driving is company-owned, the fine is an extra 10,000 KRW with no redress to the licence of the driver.

So although I have 4 tickets, no points on my licence. It's not all bad.
