|
|
Hey everyone,
Long time reader, first time poster here. My roommate and I were just wondering if anyone could tell us where to buy cat supplies in Seoul. We need all the basics - litter box and litter, food, toys, etc.
If anyone could help us out, it'd be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
PS - we're in the Jamsil area, but are willing to go elsewhere in Seoul if necessary. |

The bigger stores like E-Mart, LotteMart & HomePlus are starting to carry more cat products now. They have several varieties of food and litter (though I personally go to E-mart or LotteMart for litter because HP doesn't carry Tidy Cats and the Japanese stuff they carry makes a nasty mess!).
If you want anything more specific, there's a pet market at Chungmuro station (light blue/orange line). My favorite store is straight out exit one, cross the little side street and it's maybe the second or third door. The only way I can remember to recognize it is that there are white tile steps up to the door. They have the best selection of cat stuff that I've found in an actual store.
For online options, try http://www.catrep.com or http://www.totalpet.co.kr. Both are in Korean so if you don't know Korean you'll need someone to help you. Also, both require a Korean ID # to sign on, but if you have a Korean friend call them, they'll hook you up with a dummy number. I know it sounds like a bit of a hassle, but once you're set up with them, it'll save you tons of time trying to chase down the stuff you want.
Good luck. |

| It really shouldnt be a problem finding a supplier close to home. I live in a small city & have lots of options. Chances are theres a clump of pet shops near you & one will specialize in cats. Vet clinics also often carry supplies. Just find someplace vaguely pet-related & ask. |

Thanks for your quick replies. We're fairly new to Korea so any and all help is really great!
We'll definitely check out E-Mart and a few pet stores until we get what we need.
By any chance, can anyone recommend a good English speaking Vet in Seoul? We need to make sure everything checks out with our new friend, and it'd be nice to be able to understand if anything is wrong. |

| There is a place in haebongchong that has all sort of cat supplies (and some gorgegous kittys) get off at Noksapyeong station (line 6 one stop past Itaewon) go out I think exit 2 (you will be walking next to Yongsan Garrison) stay on the sidewalk, go past the kimchi pots and keep walking up near a bar named Philles there will be a cat shop on your left |
