Widely by whom? I don't really think the masons are anything more than a bunch of good ol' boys who need an excuse to get away from their fat wives to drink and play cards. Sure it's a club and like anyone in any club or having gone to any university or belonged to any frat, they'll give someone with the same pedigree a extra look see when making a hiring decision.
I know for darn certain I'd hire a University of Windsor grad over someone else. Does that mean I'm part of a conspiracy? Not really. |

| Freemasonery is certainly spiritual-- they acknowledge God as The Great Architect, and the craft the guild initially embraced has been couched in ritual and ceremony. However, the "Luciferian" connection is tenuous according to my research. I'd be content to believe that they're Satan-worshippers if I had the proof, but I'm just not convinced. There are are professed Luciferian Freemasons, but that doesn't mean that Luciferism is at the heart of Free Masonry. What is? I haven't the foggiest, but they seem to take it pretty seriously. |

Unintended Consequences
In one scene germs on Smithers' face sing out "Freemasons run the country" [00:13:10] while in an earlier scene a garbled reference is made to the Pythagorean formula for right angle triangles.

According to my list of lodges, there is a Scottish Rite lodge in Seoul called "Han Yang 1048" although my book does not include their address. I imagine if you went to OSAN AFB or met up with someone in the military, they could be more specific for you. There are not many of us EFL'ers who are members of the lodge.

That's right...just a few of us, but there is a sound body here nonetheless. If you are going to Osan AFB look into Truman #1727...if Itaewon is closer to you then Hanyang #1048 would be better. If you prefer Busan....

Is there a lodge in Korea? For travelin men, for good men who want to be made better? |
Because I don't know if you are red/blue, or three or four letters I'll go ahead and PM you some links (and Poet the same info).
Cheers,

By whom?
There is an ever growing amount of literature that exposes the secrets within Freemasonary. Many Masons, particularly those within the Blue Lodge (the lowest degrees which only a minority progress beyond) are not aware of the meanings behind much of what they pronounce and the occult symbolism behind their rituals that they are performing with their initiations at each level.
Freemasonary has had members who are not only famous politicians and businessmen, but also leaders of Mormons, Satanism and the JWs.
Not really the place to share in depth here.
Check a book called 'The Deadly Deception' By Jim Shaw ( former 33rd Degree Mason) and Tom McKenney.
There are plenty of resources online that discuss the relevant issues. |

That bothered me as that was and is my favorite ever military origination- well Force Recon is pretty cool too. |
I've heard it said that Masons ARE technically a modern extension of the Knights Templar ... yes.
As much as you may not like it Toad, it may be true. |

Xian,
You are right. There is an ever growing literature on Freemason activities. However, readers take what is written as truth, yet these books are extremely flawed (in theory, allegory, or actual acts). When I actually cared about what books that denounced Freemasonry said, I read them. All too often I cackled at the writers (ok, chuckled...who cackles nowadays?) Nice fiction.
Anyways.
A writer on this topic, rarely, writes a balanced (read: neither positive nor negative) view about/on the Craft. A writer always has a schtick to promote.
Are you, or anyone, going to believe me? No. My mind/opinion hasn't changed after reading others' political/(anti)religious posts....I wouldn't fathom anyone's would on this issue either. That's why I never (I believe never...maybe once) post on topics such as these...it's nearly moot.
I am not a 33rd degree (yet, Lord granting), but I am not 'one of those lowly degreed Freemasons.' So, who should I believe? My dozen or so family members and close friends who all have obtained 33rd degree save 2 or 3. Why these twelve? All are spiritual leaders of the Christian, Jewish, or Muslim faith. A few are even leaders, such as pastors of the Christian faith and one rabbi.
I'd wager one of these men would have been able to catch this "deception."
I am a Christian. Nothing I do in Freemasonry would make me think that my Lord and Saviour would look down upon.

IGTGuitar,
Close. All Knights Templar are Masons but not not all Masons are KTs.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Toad,
Knights Templar is symbolic (save when we suit up in original medieval armour...mine's fuscia...and lasso some wild mustangs and hold midnight jousts under a 3/4 moon). I always win 'cause I have the kung-fu grip.
Don't fret. Your masculinity is still intact.
Why did I write this? Nobody's mind on this topic will change.
Oh wait! I think I MAY have educated someone...shoot!!!! After all, I love ignorance.
!shoosh
