It all seems like a bit of a joke.....

In all honesty, immigration will do nothing but you just never know

Nobody in my town went to immigration. I asked the other teachers at the end of last year if they knew about this form and nobody did (they don't read this site or similar) so I didn't bother wasting my time with it. This week we all got the form faxed to our schools and filled it out. I wouldn't worry too much if you didn't make the deadline.

I have heard a number of statements questioning why immigration does not keep proper records. A few months back in the course of changing jobs and needing an extension on a visa. I found myself sitting in an immigration office across from a computer that was currently on and was showing my file.

Being nosy, I looked over as the officer wasn't there and saw that in fact they have my entire life sitting on thier computer. Every school I ever worked for, confirmation of my quals, etc. I was very impressed that they are so organised and curious as to why I have had to repeat certain actions for the last few years. Especially as they had the foresight to ring my last boss at the time and query him as to why I was leaving him and had previously worked for another school.

Its detailed enough information within a mouse click away, which provides enough info that I should never have to provide info again, but I am sure every year from now. I will repeat the exercise and listen to others talk about how they wish the Immigration service could get organised and have their files on computer. They even have my finger prints, etc. Its nice to know that they are so organised.

I'm not really sure about this, but I don't think the deadline is all that final.

I just went to immigration on the 5th to get my ARC and they had me fill out the confirmation of degree form then. Maybe that's just because I'm new here, and wouldn't have received the "notice" that apparently everyone else got. But I guess it's still ongoing if anyone missed it, and would feel inclined to go and fill out the form.

Immigration never asked me to fill in the form until it was faxed to me this week. I only knew about it from this board, if I didn't read this board occasionally I wouldn't have been any wiser. Even then it was all a bit vague as some people were saying its only people in Seoul, only Canadians etc. That's why I didn't bother, I wasn't being arrogant at all thank you. As it turned out immigration realised we wouldn't all just magically know about this procedure and faxed us the form this week, the fact that it was late is their lack of organisation. No harm done really.

my supervisor told me I had to go, even though I knew I didn't have to because of my F21. So I told one of my schools I had to go and took the day off.































But I did bring the form in. Took 5 minutes, but was an hour and a half of traveling.

Same bullshiat here.

The whole university had to go, all 21 of us.

I asked if the F-2s had to go (there was 4 of us).
We all had to go. So about ten of us walk in with our 'babysitter' and the immigration guy is surprised that there are so many of us.

Meanwhile half the group is outside having a smoke.
That's it. We all turn around and leave.

Hour trip to have a smoke...WTF?

There was a weird song I heard and downloaded once, by some other person who put "Johny Cash" after the song's name. It was an old song, but definitely not Johnny Cash. It went...

"America for white, Africa for black..."

"Send those n-ggers back" was the title.

I imagine a few Koreans are thinking in a similar vein. Go home and take me with you?
