I've just moved to Gwangju City and I'm looking to play some regular footie as a means of meeting new people and keeping the love-handles at bay. My level is no more than grass-roots Sunday league kickabout. I play mainly for the love of the game and the exercise it provides. I can compare myself to Ronaldo - a bit tubby and definitely past my best! However, I still love playing the game and i know that after a couple of months not playing, I might become a little bit melancholy!
If anyone knows of, or plays for a club nearby, please let me know where and when you train and leave some info about hooking up with you. Nice one.. |

Try the Super Sunday Football League (http://groups.msn.com/thesupersundayfootballleague)
16 teams in 2 divisions for this season starting at the beginning of March. 1st division is quite competitive with some former K-league players. 2nd division is a bit more casual but still at a good skill level. Some good rivalries in both divisions.
2nd division teams based in Seoul are UK Expats (actively looking for players - Kris is the manager, home pitch beside Han River), Gecko's Blues (Craig manages this club, home pitch K-16 US Army base in Seongnam/Bundang) and SBFC Butlers (2nd team associated with Seoul British Football Club - Luke is the manager, home pitch Seoul Foreign School). Anyang FC (managed by Dave & coached by Tom - former 2nd division Bundesliga player) runs training and possible matches over the winter. On the league site, go to Team Contacts for numbers and email addresses or go to Team Links for links to team homepages for more information.
Every year there are 2 seasons, Spring (March to June) & Fall (late August to early December). Matches are every Sunday, mostly in the afternoon so players don't have to 'sacrifice' their Saturday nights. We play a home-away format so 14 matches over the season. Promotion/relegation between divisions is 1st Division - bottom 2 teams and 2nd Division - top 2 teams.
Hope to see you on the pitch this season. PM me if you need more info.
