As promised last year mac have finally gone intel. The new iMacs and Powerbooks have just been released with intel processors, and they're apparently much faster than before (although prices remain the same): -

The good thing is that Tiger and all mac software (iPhoto etc.) runs on both the current IBM and new intel powered macs. Even pro applications like Final Cut Pro and Quark Express run on both, and for the things that don't yet (Photoshop, Microsoft Office etc.), all the new intel macs come built in with some software called Rosetta, which will run those things "almost" as smoothly on the new machines. Have to wait and see on that I suppose.
And apparently Apple are being sued for the menu navigation system it uses in the iPod (Music - Artist - Album...), which Creative holds the patents for: -

I wonder if that means Apple will have to ditch that system in the future, which would render the click-wheel near useless I suppose. |
