You have to realize that the fact that you are a foreigner walking on Korean soil is considered to be a crime to a few Koreans out there.

Where are the Canadians....?????

Idea They probably lummed all North Americans into the "American" category. You know the only reason Canadians come to Korea is to traffic small arms.

It's always great to have an outside excuse for what's not going well with your country...

Crime as in....? I overstayed my visa, I am teaching illegally, or I went on murderous rampage on the subway.

Need to define this a bit better wouldn't you say. Crime could be anything...I didn't pay my parking ticket (happens alot) to I am trafficking in human flesh and am setting up meth lab in my offictel.

I am driving a motorcycle illegally to I am small arms dealer from Canada...(sorry love that thought...)

This broad brush isn't helping anyone.....I love this country but they are schizo sometimes....KOREA HUB OF ASIA ...but don't come here cuz we really don't like foreigners...DYNAMIC KOREA...as long as you don't come or at the very least don't stay long. And we really prefer that you come on tour so that we can keep you rounded up...oh and don't make friends with the locals....one more thing could you not marry any local men or women? We need to keep the blood line clear...Have a good time!

Are you gentle?

Jade

What is crime? Or, what is premeditated crime?

Crime is something you can be charged with in a criminal court. Such as picketing/demonstrating in front of your hagwon. The police may give you permission and 1-man demonstrations are legal(for Koreans) but if your Wonjan files a criminal complaint against you for picketing with "lie, cheat, and steal signs then it doesn't matter if the police gave you permission or if it's legal for most other people.

One criminal attorney stated "I haven't had a case like this(someone being charged for picketing) for 20 years."

Premeditated crime is when the Korean farmers threaten the Hong Kong Court System by stating...

"Release the Korean criminal farmers OR we will return with civil disobediance on our minds as we demonstrate again in your country".

I read something about Koreans getting a 3 month tourist visa to the states some time in the near future.

I just heard about that today too. It's starting in October (?) of 2007.

Doesn't sound like they're planning on returning the favour to the Americans

Well, there probably aren't a lot of Koreans trying to teach Korean illegally on a 3 month tourist visa. Wink

Nope. I can't remember where I got the numbers, but I had to do the calculations myself. Number of foreigners in Korea/by crimes commited by foreigners against Korean population/(crimes committed in Korea - crimes by foreigners) or something like that.
