Unfortunate that love story banned

Brokeback Mountain

It's ridiculous, although not unexpected, that in this day and age, a movie theatre such as the Megaplex in Salt Lake City would choose to cancel the screening of a film because of its gay content. What is truly unfortunate is that a love story that involves two men is banned while a story that includes gratuitous scenes of torture (Hostel) is being promoted. God forbid that someone should be allowed to view a same-sex kiss, especially when the alternative is dismemberment by power tools.

John Osmond, Toronto

This guy said all I need to.

Disclaimer. This is about Utah, not America. Comparing Utah to the rest of America is somewhat like comparing Newfoundland to the rest of Canada though I am in no way comparing Newfoundland to Utah, as that would be insulting. Wink

So one homosexual from Toronto is up in arms. What was he doing in Utah anyway? He should have been in Jackson, Wyoming.

Interesting article and chat. I liked "Brokeback Mountain was nominated for 10 Academy awards, including Best Song for "Homo on the Range" and "Hey, that's not saddle sore, damn it!!"

I didn't know the movie was filmed in Canada, nor was it a short story of Annie Proulx's. I like her writing style. Hope its more successful at the box office than "Shipping News" was. But honestly, with the subject matter, who's really going to see this movie, other than those for the hype.

Dear Ang Lee- bring back the wire fu with Zyang Ziyi, please.
