So, I remember reading back in September that some folks were complaining that the screen on their Nano scratched to easily. I'm trying to find some info online on whether this issue has been addressed or not, but I keep coming up with the same press release by Apple.

So, to all you i-Pod Nano owners out there: how's your Nano screen? Does it really scratch that easily?

I'm sold on the Nano as far as performance is concerned (so don't try to talk me out of it all you Apple naysayers!!! Evil or Very Mad Wink ), but I want to know if this is going to be an issue before I go spend over $300 on the player & cool accessories. Cool

The scratchable screen is a PLANNED thing. Another planned thing, which hasn't hit users yet, is the failure of the irreplaceable Flash memory in the next 1 to 2 years. Also the battery failure... another thing which cannot be replaced on the Nano. They hard-wired the battery to the circuit board ON PURPOSE this time around, because Apple was miffed at users who were able to replace the batteries DIY via kits purchased on the internet.

I was the voter Very Happy

Mine has gotten scratched but not too badly. First off it comes with a laminated thingy u can put over the top. Mine lasted about a month and they are kinda steep to replace (about 8k i think). I've left it since then, its a little banged up but it still plays music fine and is the best purchase I've had since i got here.

yeah love, just make a trip down to COEX and buy the protectors (case and screen). They ARE pricey, but cheaper than a new machine. As for the 2 year batterly death date...anyone still have their MP3 player from 2003?
