My point was that you are only entitled to what your contract says, overtime and regular time considered.

For someone who isn't concerned how much the boss is making, you have spent the majority of this thread trying to pin it down.

Non-contracted? Well, that changes everything, doesn't it? Ask what you think is fair for your time, not what percent of the total pie you feel you are entitled to.

You could sit down and calculate how much based on your current salary or simply at overtime (contractual) rates...they are fairly universal. This is easy. What complicates it for you is your concern over how much your boss is making, and if you feel you are asking too much/too little. So, get over him and think about you...it makes it all much easier.

It's all a done deal. Read the thread. I mentioned in my second post that I am under contract to teach no more than 10 students at a time. This LG deal is for 25 students and it's at another place of business. That's non-contractual.

Whether my boss makes 1 million or 10 million, I don't really care. I just wanted a fair pay. And I got it.

Who are you? The owner or an employee?

Why is it any of your business how much your boss makes? If you work at LG Mart and you see them making money hand over fist, do you expect a certain cut above your regular wage? Wow. Pretty self-righteous. Did you land the deal? Did you work out the details of the class? Nope. You are just the teacher, hired and paid for.

Overtime is all you can ask for....you signed a contract and agreed to teach the class for said rate.

"My boss is making too much money"...HAR! Wonder if Microsoft employees say this as well?

Spoken like someone who will never earn more than he's offered. You get what you negoiate. His boss wants him to do a hang of a lot of extra work, he should get paid. I'd charge 35,000 an hour for this.

Was I wrong?
It is none of your business how much the boss makes as long as he pays you. You are not a taxation officer. If you don't do your job then he hires another cog to fill your place.

Peg A goes into Slot B...and so on and so on....

PS: I am glad that you got fair pay. Negotiating is better than fighting.

Thank you. I was beginning to think that I was the only one who thought my way except for a poster or two. You're right. 35,000. I just backed down a little and said, "1 million". I, however, am not teaching 36 hours. I have to be there 9 days, 4 hours/day. 10 minute breaks, of course. Plus the last two days are presentations and meeting parents. That's time though. I'm a stickler for time. I've made it dead easy. I'm so friggin' busy that the receptionist and the boss are printing the crap out for me. I do role play and milk it. I give the kids candy (not every day - maybe twice for each class when all's said and done) to make it run smoothly. The head trainer at LG said, "Was it difficult today". I just said that it was easy and that it's getting easier every day. The easier it is, the more they should pay you. I was tired on Monday and Tuesday, but felt like a king the last couple of days. Easy cash.

It's also none of his business how many beers I drink any given night. Escpecially if I show up to work sober not smelling of alcohol and do a great job at the same time.

If I was the taxation officer, he'd be up shiat creek without a paddle. That's where he'll be at one point. Because of (drum roll) me.
