Does anyone happen to know when ring girls started displaying the rounds in popular boxing matches? I am writing a story involving an early 20th century boxing match and this is a detail that needs sorting.

I believe they were preceded by round girls displaying their rings..... but as nobody really wanted to witness naked fat girls bending over, it was decided to start using more attractive "model-types"...... |
