This weekend it was too warm for the long-johns and I doffed my ski jacket in favor of a lighter sort of canvas one. Last week it rained briefly a couple of times. Man, we had two or three really frigid weeks but is this it? Is it over already? What a wussy-ass winter this country has.

Don't be too certain of that. I also had to take the liner of my jacket out on Friday as I was beginning to sweat. Anyway, I think it was last year, or maybe the year before, when I thought the cold had gone but then in the first or second week of February, there was another coldspell and our damn water froze...man, I hate the set-up of the place we're living! This is Boo-sahn, by the way. Not Cdn cold, just a bit of a nuisance to freeze the foolishly designed water/heating system. Of course, I was beginning to sweat a week after that...

If you like freezing your arse off, there are two poles to choose from. Get closer to one of them.

I agree Joe. Other than a Saturday night a few weeks ago (prior to Xmas) which was like Antarctica, Seoul winter is lame as fook on the evidence I've seen so far. Today was the perfect temperature - not cold, not hot.

with global warming, the rules change from year to year. but do ya'll really think winter is gonna end in mid-january? it'll be back, and it'll stay for a few months yet.

This winter has been really strange already. Seen more snow this year, than I have in the last 3, and December usually isn't that cold. Still, don't count winter over til at least white day, here

Our yoga teacher says that it got warm early this year, but my boss says to expect it to get cold again around the first of February. Last year there were a few days when only a few kids could get to the hogwan--the ones that lived nearby and could walk--due to snow. But this year there have only been a few flakes here.

I for one can still hardly wait to spend two weeks in Thailand. Koreans are always asking me what I'm going to do there. 'Be warm'.

In Ontario, people always assume winter is over in April. The first springish day. But it never fails there's a snow storm April 15.

Yeah, expect another cold blast before February is out. I say.

I talked to my family on the weekend -- it was about 9C there (Ontario), which is certainly warm for this time of year.

Winter tends to end around the end of February here. However, last year it went on well into March, and basically there was no spring because summer arrived early.

It would certainly appear that way.
