Yeah that gets me - inflexible notions about personal tastes is right.

Another is when they set the table.. I like to move soup, drinks, silverware, etc. around to where I want them.. but they'll come back almost immediately to change them back to where they think they are suppose to be.. Rolling Eyes

thats cuz the soup bowl should be to the right of the rice bowl, just etiquette i suppose

It bothers me that the other foreigners won't fight back. That leaves me to fight the battle alone.

Every foreigner I talk to thinks I'm over-sensitive for resenting Koreans coming up to me and saying "ĵ " every time I step out of the house.

If I'm over-sensitive for resenting that, then why isn't the same behavior tolerated back home? Why don't White people go up jiving up to every Black person and say, "Hey, brother, what's happenin'?" Why don't White people go dancing up to every Spanish person and sing "La Cucaracha, La Cucaracha"? Why don't White people walk up to every Asian person and fold their arms and say, "Ah so, Ah so"?

Qinella, if I remember correctly, I got that picture from the rest room at the Cheongju bus station.

Where did you get your picture of the ҸӴ?
It might be worth checking into.

Hogwan wongjongnims and little Korean kids. How my life got better once I didn't have to deal with either! Now all my annoyances are very minor, apart from the odd ajoshi-babo coming up to give a piece of his mind about something, usually pertaining to a K-girl. If I ever have to make a runner from this country it will no doubt be because of losing my temper with one of them.

This is funny to me because all over this board are posters complaing how rude Koreans are to them. How terrible for someone to ask you if you need help. Now do you think they do this just cuz you are foreign or prehaps you might look like someone that might actually need help.

Because that is racist, last time I checked English was spoken by a lot of people with different skin colour. If the person came out to you and took his fingers and opened his eyes wider and asked you if you needed help then I'd have a problem with that.

Maybe not you necessarily but I think a lot of people would be complaining their assess off anywhere they were. But they should be grateful for what they find annoying because clearly they have nothing better going on in their lives and they use this dislike to dill up their days posting on forums.

I recommend Dos Taco in Kangnam, great restaurant.

And there's another one called "Taco BILL" on the opposite side, on the road behind the main drag, uphill a bit. Just as good as Dos Tacos I think.

That's because they all set the tacometer back to zero when you're not watching.

The amount of air pollution is the big annoyance for me. You can see layers of clouds in the clear blue sky and the milky way at night in my hometown, but certainly not in Korea. The sky might look pale blue and there will be 5 stars at night on the clearest day of the year. My students claim there is fresh air in the town where I live, but what do they know? Most of them are from Seoul.

Besides that, Korea isn't that bad. I can always manage to stay away from the crowds or the roads.
