Mainly I miss my cats. The one in my avatar and her brother. I still think about them with regularity.

And, the enormous selection of food, especially produce, at grocery stores.

Very little, actually. The greater ease of being a vegetarian, perhaps.

Real, old cheddar cheese.

Bacon.

Stoned Wheat Thins.

Horseradish.... However, wasabi makes a pretty good substitute when I cook a roast.

Keen's/Coleman's hot mustard.

Zesty Cheese Doritos (Orion - 'Nacho, Rich Cheese!' - are OK, but don't quite satisfy my Doritos junk-food cravings).

Salt 'n Vinegar potato chips.

Pickled Ukranian sausage... and smoked, farmer sausage.

Definitely the libraries and the green grass.

I was even going to say 'the grass', but now I think about it I am glad to be away from that particular scene.
I love it here, but I miss my friends and some of (make that most of) my family ~ and there is no one here for me to play backgammon with.
I miss my cat too, even if she is an elderly grouch with a bung ear and a bossy demeanour.

A nice grilled salmon steak, smoked salmon, poached salmon. That's about it. Otherwise I'm happy to leave Canada behind.

Bah I'm sick of libraries. But then I work in one. But Korean libraries suck. Though they ARE open on sundays. (I don't work then though, obviously)

Less and less foodwise as more and more becomes available here--the exception being proper fish (thanks a lot Yu_Bum-suk!! Now I want some salmon Crying or Very sad ). I used to miss driving, but now I have a car. I miss my friends, but they're scattered all over North America now and I have equally good friends here.

What I miss the most are:

1-open space. I come from Alaska where population density is measured in square miles per person, not the other way around.

2-my family. I didn't really miss them at first. That sounds harsh... I love my family, but I've been at least 3,000 miles away from them most of the time since I left for college 11 years ago. But, now there are nephews in the mix. Two now and another due in a little over a month. I'd love to be around to spoil them rotten.

I missed my cat at first, but she's become my parents' cat now and I have Crazy Toni and Osito to keep me busy.

I miss toasted ravioli's, good cheese, Imo's Pizza, burgers big enough to choke a cow, good drivers, streets that don't smell like a$$, warm arizona winters, food that doesn't have either cabbage or onion as the main ingredient, getting more than three tater-tots with my meal, a good salad instead of shredded cabbage topped with mayo and ketchup, cheap steak, readily available Jagermeister, lemonade, a dryer, central heating, all electric utilities so I don't have to have my heating oil tank refilled every 3 weeks, ovens, shower curtians, a tub, non-florescent lighting, the Sci-Fi channel, Fox News, The Food Network, Showtime, good porn (this crap they call porn here is just pathetic, any help would be appreciated on that one), no being treated like the crap that grows at the water line of a toilet that hasn't been cleaned in too long by Canadians, being able to go to Borders and buy a book, being able to read street signs, advertisements and flyers, being able to order food to be delivered, sitting on chairs at resturants, leaving my shoes on wherever I go...

I'm sure there's more but that's enough to give you an idea. Family...nah, not really. They tend to piss me off more than not so it works out well for me that now I only have to put up with crap through email and instant messages rather then in person.

But hey, I still love it here.

Family and friends.

Ethnic restaurants and grocery stores.

City parks.

Clothes dryers.

It's a short list. Five months in and most is good here.

If you're in Seoul, you can find ethnic restaurants fairly easily. I went out for Nepalese food this week- and it was pretty good too!
