I think you mean Italian-American. It still doesn't make him a great Italian filmmaker. Do you consider Steven Spielberg an Israeli director, or M Knight Shyamalan an Indian director?

The name-dropping's merely a means to refute/support the op's claim that the greatest filmmakers were all Italian. Most of these names shouldn't be too obscure for a casual movie buff. |
