I am going on vacation and will be in Thailand when the Super Bowl is played, does anyone know anything about how I can see the game there? I dont care if I have to pay a ton to stay in a hotel with cable. I dont want to jinx my team, but IF they make it, it will be the first time ever for them, so i am sure as heck not going to miss it. (knock on wood) thanks...

It's broadcast all over the world so you should be able to see it. Try getting in touch with the American Chamber of Commerce or other such organisations to see what they are doing for the day. You can also check the television listings in the Bangkok post for game times.

i don't think it will be very easy to get the game in Thailand if there are soccer matches, or formula 1 races being broadcast. bars tend to cater to the many europeans who don't really care about the superbowl.

I'm sure you can find a sports bar in Bangkok that will carry it if TV doesn't - but, I think it's likely that either Star Sports or one of their other cable channels will carry it because the 12 hour time difference means there probably aren't any soccer or cricket matches going on at that same early morning time slot. Actually, I was in Chiang Mai last year at Superbowl time, and I saw an ad in the local paper placed by a British pub so I went there (even though I don't drink) to see my Patriots (I identify with them along with all the Florida teams...) and Paul McCartney... When I got back to my guest house, I heard that one Thai channel did in fact carry the game...

Just make sure your hotel has ESPN. I watched it year before last and will watch it again this year. Should start around 5am or so, so the bar options are limited, but I'm sure you could find an expat bar showing it somewhere.

It will be on TV for sure...

I've watched the past 3 Superbowls in 3 different countries... I bet you'll even find places promoting Super Bowl events (even though they'll be starting at 7am-ish)

I've watched it in the Land of Smiles the past 2 years and in 2000. You have a couple of choices, a thai channel will have it on with thai commentary or espn international will have it with English commentary (the past couple of years its been FOX's #2 crew of Dick Stockton and Darryl Johnston so its good commentary).

Game time is 6:30AM so there may be a few bars that will show it live if they serve breakfast, there were on Samui last year. I just asked the place where I was staying on Chaweng to turn it on in their resturant and they were most kind and did.

wish I was there for the game but I will be in the states this year Crying or Very sad
