Make a prediction.

I only made four choices because realistically those are the only options.

I predict a Conservative majority (crossing my fingers and hoping really hard)

Yeah, I think so - angry marmosets is just about right ...

Actually, just looked them up and it seems tbey are capuchins, and I usually prefer a double mocha or occasionally a plain latte, so no wonder I can't understand what they are excited about ... that probably explains why Canadian politics seems very obscure to me. That and the screaming monkeys, of course.

I see a Cons. minority. And although I'm still not sure about the Conservatives, I'd kinda like to see them have a majority just so we can get things done.

No, it's filled with monkeys now (liberals), but they aren't quite so angry Wink

I work 4 blocks from the Hill- can you tell the difference between scared monkeys and angry ones? Liberals are scared and flinging their poo around.

I think that there will be a minority PC gov't, with the NDP holding the balance of power. The Liberals have been riding the wave for a while now...and presently: the ultra-right wing agenda will [soon] have a chance to "swing the axe" so-to-speak. Albeit, I believe Harper to be a funky sort of dork--no personality (wears the same boring suite everyday) and, in camera sessions, seems quite dim compared to Martin's quick-witted mind. The Canadian political forum is largely determined by a Texan drum--a 'world beat', that celebrates global hegemony vis-a-vis globally-based [multinational] corporate intersts, etc., etc., etc. Harper will get "his marching" orders from Washington. Canada is a funny society--well intentioned and positively pluralistic--albeit [today] perhaps rather shy when it comes to devloping long-term national [social security] strategies. Most Canadians, will undoubtedly be watching Hockey Night in Canada on election night...and [unconsciously] vote in favour of profound political change. The Baby Boomers are probably going to tip the ship in the direction of a 2-tier based health-care system, which promises them fewer taxes and more privitization type social models, similar to those found in the States. Of course, if it's a minority government that is formed in the House of Commons--well then, more than likely, many small "l" Canadians will be keeping a close[r] eye on the policies being implemented by the conservative cronies--and shift their collective vote--during the next political event. If it does, in fact, turn out that Canada has decided to run with the conservative ball, the country will be a very different place in which to live...one just needs to recall the tactics of Brian Mullroney (more commonly known in Can. quarters as "Bulloney") or, contemplate the rape and pillage philosophy implemented by the Harris Government in Ontario.

I do think, though, that the Bolivians in SA have made a good choice...seeking [by consensus] to gain public ownership of the gas fields in the Altiplano region...give something to the poor Amerindians, who after all are most Bolivanos. Of course, our American cousins are upset by these social revolutionaries...but then again, they need to [socially] sweep their own backyards (New Orleans). Oh! And right, they get to enjoy the oil in Iraq, once they tidy up over there...

It's a small % of the world community, who actually enjoy driving the world economy--down the track of 'global industrialism/consummerism'--problem is, though, the bridge is down, a little further along the track.

We should be learning how to mend simple nets for fishing and/or carving out a nice little cave for ourselves...the 21st century will have some pretty interesting digital "postmodernist" surprises in store for all of us. (Too bad that many of the folks who lived during WW2 will not be around to remind us of how to cope with global war...well, then again, we have our 'pc bangs' and UT 2005 games to remind us of future storms.)

Canadian politics puts most wise men sound asleep Smile But, Montreal rocks!

Harper seems to be cleverer than Martin actually:

I think he was one of the few people that wrote his own material for that, and he's pretty good at impressions, and you can see them on the video there. Mulroney wrote the best bit though, that was classic.

I just saw the video clip that still image came from, and this 'incident' (for lack of a better word) was so much more pathetic than the still image conveys.

How can anyone not laugh at (not with) Martin after seeing that?

Edit: I've tried to find a video clip to link to but with no success. You really need to see it to appreciate how pathetic Martin is.

Hahaha! You can find examples of how pathetic he is just about everywhere now. Here's another one:

http://www.ctv.ca//servlet/ArticleNews/story/CTVNews/20060121/election_liberals_060121/20060121?s_name=election2006&no_ads=

Martin blasts Harper for saying that he went to Mexico when really he didn't even leave Canada before - so says Martin, forgetting that Harper went along with him on a number of trips to Europe before. Not that it would matter anyway but Martin decides to try to blame Harper for not being well-travelled enough. What a putz.

The picture vanished. Here's another one:

Too bad it's not that one with the kid standing next to him that looks like he'd rather be just about anywhere but next to M. Martin.
