I was checking out some job ads on HiTeacher.com and I came across one that caught my eye.
It stated that the 'Benefits of the job' were
Modern facility
Big school
Good location
and...
GOOD LOOKING TEACHERS  ...  ...  ...  ...
That's always a good reason to select which school to work at. Whatever next... |

Well, you know I'm not surprised. Koreans tend to overemphasize the importance of looks. I remember my academic supervisor used to tell me that many parents would come into our school and sign their kids up just because she thought the foreign teachers "looked like good teachers." Apparently qualifications are irrelevant.
So I guess they think you will use the same philosophy when choosing where you want to work. |
