The last time I went to visit my grandfather in Moose Jaw, he proudly drove me down to the little town of Rouleau, which is part of the set of "Dog River". They've got their grain elevator painted with "Dog River", and the gas station set up, and all that.
I expected the place to be deserted since they weren't filming at the time, but there were dozens of cars and folks snapping pictures of each other in front of the "Corner Gas" sign, or a certain character's truck. |

| -60. I like how the legend grows. Oh, Canada is sooooooooo cold. Last summer when we went to our local Subway the lady there was relaying to us what another prairie boy was telling them about prairie winters ( -50). Good gawd. Maybe in the territories, or waaaaay up north where hardly anyone lives. Winnipeg, Regina? You'll see a few -40s in January (maybe). Chances are you'll be breaking records then. |

My grandmother had to walk uphill both ways though 2 metres of snow just to go to the loo  So there! |

A number of my relatives live out there. Only been there once a few summers ago.
Beautiful province with great, "affordable" golf facilities. People are salt of the earth |

| Sask's motto was (still is?) "Land of the Living Skies". Okay, when it's so flat, maybe it's all you've got. But they are beautiful. If you are a stargazer, like myself, it's got to be one of the best places in Canada. And you get the northern lights sometimes, though the best show of those I ever saw was beside a lake in Alberta. |
