Allo,

Anyone know where I can watch election coverage, live streaming, for free. I am watching CPAC now, but it isn't really doin' it for me.

I looked on the CBC site but I don't see any information about live streaming video for election day.

Any thoughts?

Do they all stop voting at the same time now or can you get the Eastern results earlier?

Yes, so don't buy into the fallacy of 'strategic voting'- we all have to start taking the longer view.

Law puts gag on election results until 10 p.m. ET

Quote:
Section 329 of the Canada Elections Act stipulates:

"No person shall transmit the result or purported result of the vote in an electoral district to the public in another electoral district before the close of all of the polling stations in that other electoral district."

So while polling stations from the Maritimes to Alberta will all be closed by 9:30 p.m. ET, CTV.ca cannot publish any results -- under stiff penalty -- until every last poll in British Columbia is shut at 10 p.m. ET.

Earlier today a guy in Nova Scotia stole a ballot box full of votes, ran out to the parking lot and drove over it.

A true Canadian.

He was later arrested but I sure hope he gets some media interviews.

As for the election results... Albertans will be the only Canadians truly happy. It's a sad day. No real good can come of it.

FOR ANY NON-CANADIANS WHO MIGHT BE READING THIS THREAD
(or any Canadians who are hopelessly confused about the issues... igotthisguitar, are you paying attention?),
The Washington Post has a Canadian Election FAQ:

Hey if our electoral system grew up and we could vote for a local rep and PM, Jack would get my vote for PM without hesitation.

Leafs are losing again, 2-0 last time I checked.
