It is, however, amusing to read some of the posts, like the dongchimming ones - people literally taking it up the ass because they think getting sexually harrassed by children is something they should put up with for a paycheque here, lol.

I recall a thread on this very subject. I meant to ask there but will ask here, do students dongchim their Korean teachers too, or just the foreign ones? If it's the latter, then I'd be damned interested in hearing what the Korea-huggers' happy-face spin on that is.

They only dongchim us because... they want to feel closer to us! Shows they're really into us! (ouch) Um... Our asses are fatter, and thus a bigger & more attractive target? Confused

It's because they don't view certain Westerners as real teachers. And guess what? They no doubt aren't real teachers.

At my old hogwan I saw a KT getting dongchimmed. I sure as hell never did, and I think the kids had learned from past FTs and the other FTs that it wasn't a smart thing to do. I saw one kid gearing up with fingers ready and I just screamed at him - he never came near my ass after that. I did have one kid make the mistake of throwing his shoe at me. Believe me, I made sure he went home a lot more pissed off than I was, and shortly after he dropped, probably after crying to mummy about how horrible I was. Oh dear, did I lose wongjongnim-babo a customer? Oh my, how terrible! Now we might actually learn something in a class of 9 instead of throwing things around in a class of 10, with wongjongnim-babo making W135,000 less a month to put toward his new big black Equus (when he still owes the teacher I replaced his security deposit).

I think that 90% of the time that teachers get treated like crap it's simply because they let themselves get treated like crap.

I also think Billybrobby is a humourist of the first calibre- apart from when he bangs on about NFL

Tiberious AKA Sparkles too- apart from when he jawaches on the NBA.

Nautilus - I just got it from the internet, i'm a huge fan of horses/ horse racing.

The poster who has entertained me the most has probably been Swiss James, Joe Doefu seems overly negative and endlessly going through growing pains in regards to Korean/Asian culture.

Just got an email from Hwajangsil ajumma yesterday - she's back in England doing fine, thinking about a move to Chile. Is there a Dave's Chilean Job Discussion Forum?

when i'm not providing non-stop hilarity myself, I occasionally get a brief chuckle from swiss james. We're currently collaborating on a movie script called "Margaret Thatcher's Undersea Adventure." The scene where the Iron Lady fights the robot sharks is a chuckle-a-minute laugh riot. but it also has a message.
