The US doesn't have to show respect to groups , individuals or govts world wide whose primary political purpose is to trip up the US and so they will side w/ most anyone who is against the US.

Demand The Extradition Of Luis Posada Carriles

'The United States is supposed to be in an all-out struggle against terrorism. As part of that, President Bush has said over and over again that anyone who shelters terrorists or gives aid to terrorists is a terrorist.

But the Bush administration and influential members of the Florida congressional delegation are again in the process of giving shelter to Cuban exile terrorists, most prominently to one Luis Posada Carriles.

The latter is accused of being one of the masterminds of the bombing of a Cubana airliner back in 1976 with the loss of 73 innocent lives, including the Cuban junior fencing team.

Not quite

Quote:
On April 13, 2005, Posada requested political asylum in the United States through his attorney. He had entered the country illegally across the Mexican border.

Quote:
At this time, Carriles is being held by U.S. immigration authorities in El Paso, Texas, on charges of entering the country illegally — Posada's immigration case had a hearing before a Homeland Security judge in Texas on August 29, 2005, had another on September 26 [13]

No Chavez is an enemy of the US and his government is not responsible.

The US has no obligation to help an enemy.

the guy is probably is a hot potato and the US ought to get him out of the US , but the US has no obligation to help Chavez. The guy the US is holding is not a threat to the US however.

As for the Gitmo detainees well the US needs intel from them. They are a threat to the US.
