Hello everybody!
I swear that I heard rumors of a cheap Saturday class to learn Korean, but I cannot find one on the net anywhere.
Any advice on this would be appreciated!
Thanks,
Deborah

its at the womens uni, forgot the name of the station, one before seoul station (if you are comming from the south).

It starts at 4.30 on saturday and to get there from the subway, well i can only find it by getting off at exit 2, and it is opp the miltary base, with the razor wire, you will need better directions than that i know. I will be going this saturday so if you want to pm me i might be able to help you out.

and it's free (with a 1000 won donation Wink )

I'm definitely interested in those Korean classes, and if anyone could elaborate at all I'd really appreciate it.

Does anyone know if they are beginner classes, or a little above?

An hour long class?

Thanks in advance for any insight you guys can offer Smile

Hi,

I used to go to classes on Saturdays at a small institute near Ewha. Reasonable prices, very good instruction. The best part was the after class dinners. This teacher has plenty of interesting friends, you get to meet all of them. You'll go out for several hours after class. That got trying, the class started at noon and I'd get home at 2 AM. Just like Spanish class in the USA.

Yep, it's called Hangeul Kongbubang, and it's near Sookmyoung Women's University Station. Go here for their website: http://myhome.naver.com/tartan/menu12.html

It's in a little alley, so it's tough to give directions, but if you show up at that station at around 4:15 on a Saturday, you're bound to see white people who are on their way to Korean class. Ask one of them, or get in touch with Kongbubang through their web site.

Thanks everybody!
I plan on going this Saturday. It sounds fun, and a good way to get out and meet people and get myself on the subway. Plus I really want to learn Korean! I feel like a bumbling idiot!
I have only been in Korea for 3 days. I will be coming from Ilsan. If anybody else will be coming from up here, PM me and we can go together if you want.
Otherwise, cheers everybody, and thanks again!
Deborah

i just remembered that the class for this sat is cancelled due to holidays, but it will be open the following sat. i reckon the best idea would be to meet at exit two about 4-4.15 at the Sookmyoung Women's University Station. just look for the other wey-gooks that look lost (make sure you do leave by exit 2
