Given the advice of many, I'm trying to avoid recruiters in my job search - I'm in Daegu, and I'm looking for something in Daegu or Busan, preferably. The only problem is - where do I start!? I've tried searching posts and reading FAQs, but I can't find any specific information. Please feel free to point me to the appropriate thread if this has been covered before (surely) I just kind find it.
Do I just take my resume (and passport photo maybe?) around to individual schools?
Where do I find the schools? Is there a government agency that has a list of English hagwons?
Any other ways to approach this?

Check the job boards and throw out a resume at anything that looks good and don't worry about recruiters, would be my advice. If you have a particular neighborhood in mind, drop into hagwons in the area. |

As well as what has been mentioned above, do you know any other foreigners here? Ask around, usually someone you know has some leads.
Post your resume on this and other EFL sites, then sort through the offers.
A lot will be from recruiters, but there will be the odd direct offer from a school.
Don't rush.
Good Luck. |

Try Pusanweb.com, englishspectrum.com, Mark's esl world, linguistic funland, tefl.com, esl empyment.com .... there are hundreds of them.
I may not have written the names exactly right, so you might have to do a search for the name.
