I'm interested in what kinds of Asian art people have collected in their travels. Here is some of what I have:

a Japanese illustration from an old book

another illustration

a Chinese papercutting bought in Shanghai

a Balinese hand-painted calendar

a west Chinese textile

Would like to know what others collect and/or find interesting.

You've got everything nicely framed- was that expensive?

I got this lovely drawing from a 12-year-old spoiled brat in Suwon.

Let me show you how she drew it:

Some at framers in Hongdae, some at the little store in front of Hannam Market. I recommend both.
Price depends on size, matting, and material. 20 to 40k for average size. Oversize, maybe up to 80k. Cheaper than the US, but don't want to think about having to ship them home one day. Confused

I like to collect erotic art from other countries. (but not the kind that RT posted!LOL) Especially the antique kind. I think people were a lot freer about sexual expression a long time ago.
I think it says a lot about the people, their government and colonialism/globalisation/western influences/etc.
That kinda stuff is a bit hard to find in Korea these days, but a long time ago they had quite a bit of it. I came across some really old erotic drawings that would make a hooker blush.

BTW, has anyone been to the dild0 tree? It's on the coast somewhere...
(That's the tree where the girls tie dildoes to it for fertility or something.)
