| Hey folks, I've been fielding offers for a week or so, trying to hold out for jobs in Bsan near the beach. May sound picky but, hey I'm sure one would crop up eventually! I was offered one in Jeju City, and from what I've heard, the island is a pretty stunning and beautiful plae to live. However, I still enjoy a bit of partying at the weekend and stuff, so was worried Jeju City might not have much to offer. Does anyone know much about it? Also, if you have lived there, did you feel isolated at all? Or does the island have everything you need? Thanks a lot, Chris |

I've been on Jeju for over two years, and it was great for a while, but after 2 years, I'm growing a bit restless. If you are wanting to go out every night to a different club and meet lots and lots of foreigners, don't come to Jeju. If you like a more beautiful environment where you can go outside or to the beach whenever you want, but still want a close-knit nightlife, Jeju is your place. Also, remember that if you want to tour the mainland, it can be a bit expensive as you have to fly or go by ferry. Flights to Seoul are 150 US round trip roughly, with Busan about 130 US. Ferrys are cheaper, about 70 round trip to Busan and 90 or so to Seoul (I think, could be off), but they take a few extra hours.

I agree with all of that.
I lived in Seogwipo for 1 year, and have been in Jeju City for 6 and counting. I like it and have no desire to live elsewhere in the country. |
