Hi,

The World Junior Curling Championships for 2006 will be held in Jeonju
in Jellobuk-do between March 11 -19th. The representative Canadian
teams are Alberta's Charley Thomas rink(men) and Saskatchewan's
Mandy Selzer rink(women). At this time, I am unaware of the actual
playing times for the event.

If any fellow Canadians are interested in attending some of the games.please send a PM . I certainly will be going to Jeonju to catch the early action on March 11th(Sat) and March 12th(Sun). Please join me
to cheer on (and show support for) our men's and women's teams.

Canada , eh!

Jay Mohr's take on this so called sport

CURLING: Possibly the most idiotic sport of all-time. Shuffle board on ice with a twist of bocce. A few years back, the writing staff from Mohr Sports and I traveled to a curling rink to meet the U.S. Curling team and film a segment with them. We spent the afternoon learning how to "curl" and finished the day by playing (playing?) a friendly game of curling against these Olympians. My stoner writing staff and I lost 3-1. What else do you need to know?

Well, there seems to be little interest in both this thread, and the world juniors!
Even so, I am going to cheer on my country, and anyone is welcome to join me (no matter where they are from!).

Thanks for the tip! I think I will go. I'm looking into buses and such now. Any advice (apart from what I found in Lonely Planet) on where to stay?

However, I will not be cheering for the Canadians. (I'm an American.)

You can find the playing times on this website:

(Click "list of matches" on the left.)

Will try to make it down there for some of the matches on Opening weekend. Had no idea it was happening here.

I met the curling guys in Subway the other day. Nice guys.

Sweden beat Scotland 6-4 and Canada beat China 7-6 in the men's semifinals and it will be the fourth time ine five years that the two nations meet in the men's final.

Russia beat Switzerland 8-3 and Canada beat Denmark 8-5 in the women's semifinals and will meet in tomorrow's final.

Did anyone see the games?
