My contract ends in March, and I plan on moving to Seoul in April, so I need a place to store some things during the time that I'm not in Korea. I've asked some Koreans and they said they don't know of any such places, but I thought I'd ask here to see if anyone else knows.

If there is no place, what do most people do between jobs? For example, I have a computer that needs to be kept somewhere. I had a friend in Daejeon offer to let me keep it at her place. Is that basically what everyone does here?

Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!

Q.

Cheap goshiwon!

The cheapest goshiwons can also be used as a storage closet for people who are going abroad for a month or two and intend to come back. A quick search of some sites will turn up a few locations under 200,000 that are not worth living in but are fine for storage.

Hmm.. not a bad idea. Do you think there's anything cheaper, though? And, are goshiwons secure?

Thanks!

Hi,

You should try that "Solutions" place that always advertises in the K-Scene magazine. It is across from McDonald's in Itaewon(on the left side, up that hill). I've been there and it seems pretty good. They have storage lockers. That is what I'll be using when I take a vacation between contracts.

Generally but depends on the goshiwon. I assume there's a better way but that's all I can think of. I assume that it would be easy enough to find a person that would take the stuff for maybe 100,000 a month or so, half the price of a goshiwon and more secure if the person is recommended as being trustworthy. Not sure about anything official, no.

Surely there must be some people who've read this thread and stayed in Korea more than one year. Can you tell me what you did with your stuff between contracts? Keep it with a friend? Goshiwan? Storage facility?
