Are you using VLan Player?

There are some settings that change how it deinterlaces the picture, under video settings.

If it is happening in Microsoft's Media Player, I have no idea. Maybe you need a new installation?

I use Real Player, then MS Media. Both are showing the AVI's upside down but not the mpeg or real files, just AVI's

Get Videolan Player or download a 'codec pack'. Either will work in allowing you to view your movie files.

I would say its a setting in your display driver properties? What VGA card you got?

I had a dvd player that could do that as well. Of course in the end it got a bit annoying, having to turn it the right way up - just to get the dvd out.

I say enjoy it while it's still fun ... Very Happy

Is the sound backwards as well? Wink

It's a codec thing. I had some old home videos I put on CD a long time ago...they played upside down as well....the encoding was done with some relic .avi compression that only the great "megacodecpack" could sort out.

Changing your ettings or drivers wouldn't help anything as the problem is related to the encoding of the actual file.

I am of the opinion its a codec problem as well. As soon as my inet is back, ill try to fix it. TY for the help everyone.
