I often wonder about how the classroom environment can be altered to make it more conducive to learning; certainly it gets overlooked a lot. This is an interesting article about an experiment in my home town, and I wonder how applicable it would be to teaching children elsewhere:

Sounds interesting, and I can see how it might work but my students manage to fall off regular chairs a lot. .

Haha.. yeah, I've had too many head injuries occur 'cause my kids like tilting their chairs. I feel bad but I can't help but sometimes laugh. Laughing

The last kid's camp we had the kids broke seven chairs...this might be a cure for their instinct to "beat" the chair.

So, it's actually a classroom from Quebec that came up with the idea.

I wonder if it's safe for kids to sit on these things for hours at a time on a daily basis.

You're quite welcome. I might actually buy one of those balls myself, I do too much sitting at work, and I'd like to lose some weight. Laughing

the great use of imaginative thinking

innovation would be very hard to impliment in a Korean classroom

doing things the way everyone else is, is the way of business in this here parts
