Well my wife is about to pop out our second kid and that' s it. No more. The only way to guarantee this is to get myself snipped.

Now I'm nervous about doctors playing with my tackle and even more nervous when their doing it in a language I don't speak fluently. So basically what I'm looking for is information from people who have had it done. What's involved, recommendations of where to do it (doing it in Korea as I don't plan on traveling back to Canada anytime soon), and anything else anyone can think of.

Why are you thinking of doing this? Especially in Korea. You can never tell what might happen especially with all the anti-foreign sentiment. Why don't you just get it done in Iran and get it over with? lol But seriously I'd wait until I went back to Canada. Or get your wife to get her tubes tied or even have her use the pill until then. I hear it's a lot less paiful for her. And you shouldn't have to do anything that makes you feel uneasy. Women often make us think so, but it shouldn't be all your responsibility.

I would have it done here. It is expensive in Canada. And not covered my health care in any province that I know of...

And it is not painful at all....comparing it to having a woman's tubes tied is almost silly. Easy access for me...short recovery time. Little or no pain.

I had done here in Korea about 15 months ago as the cost was going up...it was under 50K won when I had it done and I don't think it is much more than 150K now... still much cheaper than Canada.

Here in Incheon near Juan Station from some clinic that my wife knew about. My wife just found a guy on the Internet close to our home and made an appointment. I never gave it two thoughts. The procedure is fairly simple and the guy did a lot of them.

In fact as the price was going up...he was doing 40-50 a day as men tried to save a little money. That made me nervous...who would want to be the 50th...but my wife came and with her and his English everything was okay.

The guy was going to cut into your nut-sack... I should hope you gave it at least two thoughts.

WHile in Canada a year ago I got LASIK (laser eye surgery). I could have gone to the $1200-1500 place, and it probably would have been fine, but I have heard a few stories that some people weren't so happy. I decided to go to the $3500 one instead that had been around for awhile. I was not going to mess around with my eyes. The same would go with messing around with future children Wink I was (am) not rich either, I had just finished a year in China (not so good pay, though not bad for China), so it was a bit of a financial hardship, but still worth it.

I'm not worried about money, just where to get it done in Korea. Thanks for tip.

I hear that lazer surgery could screw with your long-term vison. Money well spent Wink .

No, there have been a lot of studies from the place I went to. I had researched it for 2 years before doing it. I don't just jump into something. It has also been significantly refined lately. They took an exact image of my eye and cut only what they absolutely had to (which was very little). And in the slim chance you are right (though I am not going to start worrying based on something you heard Wink ), I can probably grow new eyes for myself in about 20 years Smile

I'm in the same boat (my second daughter is 1 today); my wife is telling me, "It's so simple, non-invasive...". I agree, but I just can't bring myself to do it. I don't scare easily, but I don't think it will happen. I can't imagine being awake for that.

(I'm sure you know this info already Superhero, but I'm just adding it for the benefit of some of the morons who posted on this thread questioning your masculinity or whatever.)

Once you and your partner have decided permanent sterilization is your best choice, you'll need to decide which of you will undergo a surgical procedure. Women can permanently end their fertility through tubal ligation, while men have the option of vasectomy as a method of permanent sterilization. Tubal ligation is the method that is most commonly performed, however, that may be because the majority of couples don't realize that vasectomy involves far less risk to the patient, and is a much easier procedure performed in the doctor's office rather than in the hospital setting required for tubal ligation.

and, kudos to you for having the sense to make the decision rather than make it your wife's burden as so many men do.
